Man hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself in the groin in North Miami

A man was hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself in the groin at a North Miami bus stop Wednesday, authorities said. The incident happened in the area of Northeast 125th Street and 6th Avenue as the man was exiting a Miami-Dade Transit bus, North Miami Police officials said. That s when the gun, believed to be in his waistband, accidentally went off, hitting him in the groin area, police said. The man was taken to Aventura Hospital for treatment. His identity wasn t released. An investigation into the incident was ongoing.
